CROSSTOWN CUBS – SOX SERIES AN EASY FLY ON CTA`S RED LINE

June 11, 1999
06/11/99

This weekend's crosstown baseball series between the Cubs and the White Sox will be played at Wrigley Field, putting all three games within fly ball distance of CTA's Red Line station at Addison.

The series opener will begin at 2:20 p.m. Friday, June 11; Saturday's contest will start at 12:15 p.m., and Sunday's at 1:20 p.m. Regardless of the starting time, CTA's Red Line will be a sure winner in getting fans to the games quickly and conveniently.

Red Line trains in the State Street subway downtown take only 15 to 17 minutes to reach the modern, fully accessible Addison station, where fans have only to cross Sheffield Avenue to enter the friendly confines. Red Line travel time is almost the same to Addison from the northern terminal at Howard.

Free connections can be made to Red Line trains from the Green and Orange Lines at State/Lake, from the Brown Line at Belmont, and from the Purple and Yellow (weekdays only) Lines at Howard. Blue Line riders from the West Side can change to Red Line trains at Jackson or Washington downtown. Blue Line riders inbound from O'Hare can reach Wrigley Field by transferring to #152 Addison buses at the Addison Blue Line station.

Also serving Wrigley Field are accessible #22 Clark buses that operate north through the Loop on Dearborn Street and south on Clark from Howard, or #152 Addison buses that run east on Addison from Cumberland and west from Diversey and Sheridan via Sheridan, Lake Shore and Addison.
